The Summer Session at J. F. Oberlin University is a maximum 8 weeks, 4 sessions, intensive program in the center of Tokyo. Courses offered in 2025 will be several content courses and three levels of Japanese language courses. Each course allows participants to have first-hand experience through not only theoretical study, but also through field trips and lectures by guest professionals. Upon completion of each course, participants will be issued an official transcript from J. F. Oberlin University (4 credits/course)*.
*Each 4 credit course =2,800 total minutes of classtime.
The Winter Session at J. F. Oberlin University is a two weeks, 1 session, intensive program in the center of Tokyo (Extra optional Hakuba Snow trip available). Courses offered in 2025 will be several content courses and two levels of Japanese language courses. Each course allows participants to have first-hand experience through not only theoretical study, but also through field trips and lectures by guest professionals. Upon completion of each course, participants will be issued an official transcript from J. F. Oberlin University (4 credits/course)*.

Students in all five of J. F. Oberlin's undergraduate colleges are eligible to participate in long-term (one- or two-semester) exchange programs at overseas partner institutions. Exchanges with English-speaking countries began in 1981, with China in 1985, and with Korea in 2002.
J. F. Oberlin students have a choice of 36 short-term overseas study programs of two to six weeks’ duration. They include language study programs as well as internship opportunities, volunteer work, and theme-based study tours in fields such as theater, music, and social welfare.
