1) Please tell us about your specialty and what is the appeal of it.

I teach English as a Foreign 365在线体育投注-【官网直营】@ in the Liberal Arts Core program. While this immersion program can be overwhelming to some students initially, it’s an excellent way for them to experience another language and culture. As our world becomes increasingly multicultural, students who understand a second language and the differences between cultures have an advantage in the workplace and in society. Because I am also new to Japan and the Japanese language and culture, I have increased empathy and patience for my students!
2) Please tell us how you spend your holidays and what your hobbies are.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping and sewing (especially quilting). I also love to travel around the world and am currently enjoying taking weekend trips to various places in Japan.

Don’t be afraid to try new things and sometimes make mistakes. Those are the best ways to learn and grow. Your time here at Oberlin is a chance to meet many new people and to learn about the world. The more you try new things and learn about others, the more you will also understand yourself!
